Our Policies and Procedures

At AZ Massage Therapy our goal is to provide every guest with professional, therapeutic care in a relaxing and welcoming environment. Each session is tailored to meet your individual needs and wellness goals. The following policies and procedures are designed to ensure the best possible experience for both new and returning clients.

Massage Therapy Session

Arrival to your Massage Session

Please arrive at your appointment 10 minutes prior to the schedules starting time. This allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience including a conversation pertaining to your intake form and preparation for the service.

Cancellation Policy and Fees

Your therapy times are reserved exclusively for you. We value your business and ask that you respect our scheduling policies. Should you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Any late cancellations will result in a fee charged to the card on file equal to 50% of the service cost.

No Show Policy and Fees

We understand that unanticipated events occur in everyone's life. However, we ask that you contact us if you cannot keep your appointment. Clients who miss their appointment without giving any prior notification within our cancellation parameters will be charged in full for the scheduled service.

Late Arrival Policy

All treatment sessions have a specific time schedule therefore any service beginning late will end at the scheduled time and will be charged at full price. If you are more than 15 minutes late the appointment will be considered cancelled.

Booking your Session

When booking your session, a credit or debit card is required to hold your session. We hold this information as part of our cancellation and no show policies. 

Scope of Practice

Massage therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client. Massage therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. Our therapist may refer you to a medical doctor for diagnosis or treatment. Our services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention for specific conditions. Please refer to a medical doctor for any specific condition which requires medical treatment.

Existing and New Medical Conditions

It is the responsibility of the client to keep the massage therapist informed of any new medical condition or treatment that was not reported on the initial intake form. The massage therapist has the right to cancel the session and may refer the client out if said medical condition is outside of the massage therapist's scope of practice.

Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries

The massage therapist is able to adjust items including but not limited to pressure, temperature, and music volume. The client may choose to undress to their comfort level whether that be fully dressed or partially undressed. Although we require that clients keep their underwear on during the session. The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped. Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is never tolerated.

Termination of Session

The massage therapist or the client has the right to terminate the session at an point of the service. Sexual conversation, sexual innuendo, sexual jokes etc. will not be tolerated. All client-initiated contact with a therapist is prohibited.

Confidentiality and Conversation

As professional healthcare providers, we abide by HIPPA. We treat all clients visits and conditions as confidential. As such, we will not discuss your visit with anyone without your expressed and written permission. This session is your time to relax and unwind. You may choose to talk or not talk during the massage. Conversation will be guided by the client's direction.
